Microsoft Word 2007 has a word counter that allows you to count the total number of words in the document. The number of words in the document shown in the lower left corner.

By default, the word count tool is not accessible from the standard toolbar. To add the word count tool, you must click on the top of the document. After that, there are more commands to select from the drop down arrow drop down menu. You must then find the tool to have in the menu list on the left and add it to your menu on the right. Finally, you must click the OK button to add the Word Count tool at the top of the document.

To find the number of words in a text selection, you must use the mouse to highlight text in the document. Once you have highlighted text, you click the Count tool at the top of the document. Clicking on the icon of the Word of calculation at the top, the Count dialog box will appear on the screen. The count of the text selection is displayed after the words in the Count dialog box. The Count dialog box, there is a include textboxes, footnotes and endnotes check box. If you check the Include textboxes, footnotes and endnotes check box Microsoft Office Word 2007 will take into account the count of the text boxes, footnotes and endnotes in the final tally total.

To find the number of words of words in a text box, select the text with the mouse. After selecting text, you can view your account on the status bar. For example, if states 200/500 means that the account in the text box is 200 and the total number of words in the document is 500.
